PREPARATION FOR LIFE IN INFORMATION SOCIETY AT TEACHING INFORMATICS COURSES
Summary
One of the main tasks of Polish school (education) is to prepare students for life in an information society. In this article I present a look at the accomplishment of this task during teaching courses Informatics and Information Technology. A school is to prepare students for using computers, software and information technology, to create opportunities for acquiring skills of searching, sorting and using information from different sources. At informatics lessons students acquire these skills; they are necessary for active, responsible and effi cient workings in contemporary world.
Also important initiatives and actions undertaken in order to guarantee access to Internet in each school are presented in this article.
