Summary
This article is aimed at establishing causes of prosperity of commons in peer production. This problem is important to solve because of contradiction to Hardin’’s work about tragedy of commons. Main goal of paper is verifi cation of hypothesis that commons which is base of peer production is unlimited in opposite to Hardin’s common. The main factors that confi rm this hypothesis are connect with unlimited Internets’ space and cost of virtual products production. Important aspects are also institutional issue of General Public Licensing which allow to process peer production without threat of exclusion anyone form commons.
