Streszczenie
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza roli, znaczenia i zadań technologii informacyjnej w edukacji. Udzielono odpowiedzi na pytania o sens, zakres i sposób nauczania technologii informacyjnej (TI) w kształceniu ogólnym. Ze względu na szybko zmieniające się środowisko kształcenia i funkcjonowania uczniów oraz jednostek edukacyjnych dużo uwagi poświęcono potrzebie integracji TI z pozostałymi dziedzinami nauczania. Na podstawie rozważań teoretycznych i wyników badań Morbitzera (2003) autorka niniejszego artykułu podjęła się wyjaśnienia często występujących błędnych wyobrażeń o roli TI w edukacji.

THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION
Summary
The purpose of this article is to analyze the role, significance and tasks of information technology in education. The questions about the meaning, scope and methods of teaching information technology (IT) in general education were answered. Due to the rapidly changing environment of learning and functioning of the students, much attention was paid to the need for integration of IT with other areas of education. Based on theoretical considerations and the results of Morbitzer’s researches (2003) the author explains the common misconceptions about the role of IT in education.
