Streszczenie
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników analizy wypełniania przez Polskę kryteriów zbieżności i wpływu procesów konwergencji na celowość oraz tempo integracji ze strefą euro. Autor dokonał przeglądu literatury z zakresu przesłanek i istoty kryteriów konwergencji nominalnej i realnej. Następnie przeprowadzone zostało badanie poziomów wskaźników decydujących o konwergencji w okresie 2004–2012. Ustalono, że ich wartości w polskiej gospodarce odbiegają od pułapów w strefie euro, szczególnie w drugiej części analizowanego okresu. Wciąż niski w porównaniu ze średnią unijną jest poziom PKB na mieszkańca. W związku z tym wydaje się, że na początku 2013 roku Polska pod względem konwergencji nie jest jeszcze gotowa do przyjęcia euro.

THE CONVERGENCE CRITERIA OF POLISH ECONOMY AS AN INDICATOR OF THE PACE OF MONETARY INTEGRATION
Summary
The article aims at the presentation of the results of the analysis of the convergence criteria fulfilment by Polish economy and of the impact of convergence processes on the rationality and the pace of monetary integration with the euro zone. The author made a review of the literature on the determinants and the essence of nominal and real convergence criteria. Then there was a research made, on the levels of the indicators which determine the convergence, in the period of 2004–2012. It was observed that their values in Polish economy diverge from the euro zone levels, especially in the second part of the analysed period. GDP per capita is still low when compared with the EU's average. Consequently, at the beginning of 2013, Poland – in the context of the convergence – seems to be not ready to adopt euro.
