Streszczenie:
Poszukiwanie związku pomiędzy strukturą właścicielską a efektywnością funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw stanowi od wielu lat przedmiot zainteresowania badaczy zarówno na świecie, jak i w Polsce. Wyniki prowadzonych badań w tym zakresie nie dają jednoznacznych rezultatów, wskazując na pozytywny, negatywny lub neutralny charakter takiej zależności. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie niniejszego zagadnienia od strony teoretycznej oraz krytyczna ocena wyników dotychczas prowadzonych badań. Zdaniem autora zmiana metodologii w zakresie doboru wskaźników służących do pomiaru efektywności oraz zastosowanie zindywidualizowanego podejścia do czasowego i rzeczowego zakresu badań mogą wpłynąć pozytywnie na ich rezultaty podczas podejmowanych kolejnych prób analizy tego zagadnienia.

OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE AND EFFICIENCY OF ENTERPRISES
Abstract:
The relation between ownership structure and the efficiency of enterprises has been the subject of
interest for many years. The key assumption used in process of analyzing of that issue is that the increase of ownership concentration, by reducing agency costs and information asymmetry, has a positive effect on the company performance. The results of studies in this area have a high degree of ambiguity, indicating positive, negative or neutral nature of such relationship.
The ambiguity of historical results will be the sure basis for making in future next attempts to study that phenomenon. The change of indicators used to performance measure and individualized approach in terms of the scope of research could bring in the future significant added value. It could be also very important to extend the theoretical approach for explaining more complex the behavior of owners and managers and the relationship among them.
