WIND ENERGY AND ITS INFLUENCE ON ECONOMY OF POLAND

Summary

The Electricity Sector in Poland holds a position of great importance. The reason being is the EU’s energy policy. The main aim of the EU’s energy policy, is to promote the development of renewable energy. The renewable energy market in Poland is not yet developed enough, however the aim of policy is to increase this market in Poland to 15% by the year 2020. The utilitisation of Wind energy gives the EU a chance to reach its aims. In spite of the global economic crisis, investments in new wind turbines continues to increase. Wind Energy production worldwide is doubling every third year. Many governments have sent signals that they want to accelerate wind development in their countries and indicate that investment in the using wind as an energy resource is seen as the answer to the financial as well as to the still ongoing energy crisis. Wind sector development will help increase economic growth as well as providing a source of employment for many. This article is an analysis of Wind Sector in Poland.
