Streszczenie
W ostatnich latach polityka innowacyjna stała się jedną z ważniejszych polityk sektorowych nie tylko w Unii Europejskiej, ale i w Polsce. We współczesnych gospodarkach rośnie rola innowacji w porównaniu do klasycznych czynników wzrostu gospodarczego, takich jak ziemia, kapitał, siła robocza. Innowacje przyczyniają się do podniesienia konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstw, jak również wzmacniają pozycję regionu, a odpowiednio wspierane – także kraju na arenie międzynarodowej.

BUSINESS INNOVATIVENESS AS A REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT STIMULATOR
Abstract
In the last years an innovation policy became one of the most important sector policies not only in EU, but also in Poland. In modern economies the role of innovation increases comparing to classical factors of economic growth, e.g. land, capital, work-force. Innovations contribute to increasing business competitiveness and strengthening region position as well as country position internationally when properly assisted. This study attempts to determine firstly whether Polish companies implement innovations, secondly what exactly are the innovations provided by them, and lastly to what extent their innovative activities affect the change and development of the regions.
