IMPORTANCE AND DIRECTIONS OF SIMPLIFYING A STATEMENT OF CASH FLOWS
Summary
The purpose of the study is to determine the importance of information about cash flows as well as to present a proposal of simplifying a statement of cash flows. It is worth pointing out that the proposal of a simplified statement of cash flows may be recommended to these entities that are not obliged to prepare this component of a financial statement.
The main directions of simplifying a statement of cash flows are among other things:
1) reducing the number of items presented in the Appendix No. 1 to the Polish Accounting Act,
2) a possibility of presenting some items ,,per balance”, i.e. as a result of a subtraction of cash outflow from cash inflow,
3) a possibility of presenting the most important sources of cash inflows and outflows, without searching for detailed items which have no effect on the cognitive value of a statement of cash flows.
