W warunkach gospodarki rynkowej charakteryzującej się dużą zmiennością otoczenia, wzrastającym poziomem konkurencyjności i internacjonalizacji gospodarki realizacja przez kadrę kierowniczą we właściwy sposób procesu zarządzania wymaga ciągłego doskonalenia organizacji.48 Szczególnego znaczenia w tym kontekście nabiera obecnie zagadnienie pracy kierowniczej w organizacji. Trudno bowiem wyobrazić sobie racjonalizację systemu zarządzania organizacją bez podstawowego elementu tego systemu, jakim jest kierownik czy menedżer i jego oddziaływanie na podwładnych.

Summary
In a market economy characterized by high volatility environment, the increasing level of competitiveness and internationalization of the economy, the implementation of the managers in the right way management process needs continuous improvement of the organization. Particular significance in this context, the question is now of working executives in the organization. It is difficult to imagine rationalizing the organization's management system without the basic element of this system, that is head or manager and its impact on subordinates.
So who is the manager - a manager in an organization? To decide on the reality, phenomena and processes related to the general of management, clearly specify the scope of such terms as director and manager. It is therefore necessary to provide some definitions, and compare them to confront reality. This will allow for the development, adoption and consistent use of these terms, the more that is not clearly established their importance.
